In the early months of 2020, before the border closures and lockdown measures, I embarked upon a brief journey to Portland, a city renowned for its artistic verve and liveliness. Upon arrival, I was struck by a marked difference in the atmosphere from my previous visits. The air was laden with a palpable sense of unease and apprehension, reflective of the escalating uncertainties brought on by the pandemic.

As someone familiar with the city's vibrant and colorful character, the subdued ambiance was jarring. However, through my lens, I endeavored to capture the essence of this momentous shift taking place - a shift that may shape the city's future trajectory in unforeseen ways.
